Alexis' 'kiss' from the last book actually served to 'cure' Layton of his obscured vision and made him realize Preston was his actual mate. Once they decided to be together early in the book it was a strong solid mating with no doubts and stupid misunderstandings to waste time.
I loved this couple! The introduction of the Sidhe and Corbin's Scarlet did not drag out Layton's stubborn pursuit of Corbin. The introduction of the Sidhe and Corbin's future love interest is a great teaser.
I am hoping Rhys gets his mate soon as I love how kind, brave and loyal he is. Mar 14, adrienne rated it it was ok. View 2 comments. Feb 11, blub rated it really liked it Shelves: mpreg , shifter , mm-romance , m-m-family , soul-mates.
I was looking forward to reading this and it didn't disappoint. It was a bit more anticlimactic then I thought it would have been but it is was still enjoyable. I was hoping Preston would make Layton work to make it up to him but this is a shifter series so yeah The plot keeps thickening and I for one can't wait for the next installment to see what else is going to happen to effect peacemaking among the different species. Why not just stick with young and confused? Why can't shifters suppress thier feelings and be mistaken? Clearly Preston had done so to refrain from taking action earlier yet Layton cannot be naturally lead astray by his youthful infatuation?
Mar 12, Toni rated it liked it. I like this series and enjoy the characters but I could only give this a 3 because of the editing and proofing of this book. Sep 13, Shaz rated it liked it Shelves: mm , shifters.
This one loses half a star for rather bad editing unfortunately. There were several POV changes with wrong names being inserted at the wrong times. It threw me out of the story a few times but overall it was still good. These books are pure escapism I just hope that the editing doesn't deteriorate any further. It didn't have the same oomph as the previous book - of course, I might just be biased because Morgan and Alexis are my absolute favorites. Lots of plotty-plot and action. I liked the pacing but would have like a few more answers. I guess that's what a cliffhanger is for. I'll obviously be starting that next book soon. Joe Dispenza not only teaches why people tend to repeat the same negative behaviors, he shows how readers can release themselves from these patterns of disappointment.
With the dynamic combination of science and accessible how-to, Dispenza teaches how to use the most important tool in ones body and life—the brain. Now, in his empowering book Evolve Your Brain he explains how new thinking and new beliefs can literally rewire one's brain to change behavior, emotional reactions, and habit forming patterns.
Most people are unaware of how addicted they are to their emotions, and how the brain perpetuates those addictions automatically. In short, we become slaves to our emotional addictions without even realizing it.
By observing our patterns of thought, and learning how to 're-wire the brain' with new thought patterns, we can break the cycles that keep us trapped and open ourselves to new possibilities for growth, happiness and emotional satisfaction. Ingredients derived from wild animals are not only widely used in traditional remedies, but are also increasingly valued as raw materials in the preparation of modern medicines. This book discusses the role of animals in traditional folk medicine and its meaning for wildlife conservation.
We hope to further stimulate further discussions about the use of biodiversity and its implications for wildlife conservation strategies. There is a growing awareness of the important role that human genetics play in individual differences in human behavior. However, many behavioral scientists have little background in biology, much less training in genetics.
This book is for students in the behavioral sciences who need to understand genetics, but who have little or no training in biology. The text provides the basic biology which is essential for an understanding of genetics and then provides a solid overview of the principles of genetics. Rather than provide a comprehensive analysis of the current literature on genetics, the author reviews a selected sample of the research that is most relevant to the social and behavioral sciences.
Emphasis is placed on the role that genetics plays in regards to the behavioral sciences. He was the reason why I remained in Wings. I could have left many times, but my heart urged me to stay. I wanted to be near Blaze, even if my emotions were in lockdown. Dreams of spreading my wings and flying as far and as fast as the breeze would carry me were growing more tempting. The cage imprisoning me weakened every day.
His famous grin made my nipples pebble and my internal temperature rise. I dropped the book onto the coffee table. I wanted to rake my nails down his back instead of shredding the pages. His warmth enveloped me and I wanted to fall against him. I hated secrets, and why I dodged him every chance I could lately. His warm tone made me lift my chin. Our gazes met and I swallowed against the constriction.
His eyes were like a beacon, sending signals to every nerve ending in my body. My eyes filled with tears and I blinked them away. I glanced at my reflection in the mirror hanging on the wall and winced. I looked like shit. Not only were my eyes red, but my nose was shining. My hair framed my face in wild waves. Words dangled on the tip of my tongue—words of love. Walking on eggshells. Monitoring everything that came out of my mouth around Blaze and Diesel. I wanted freedom.
I had dreams that I had put off for too long. You know his excuse for being disloyal? All members cheat. Cheating is the way of life. I had dreams of love and romance. His broad shoulders slumped some. He just lives for the Wings. I shrugged. The discussion was useless. Blaze tore his hands from his pocket as a tired sigh escaped his lips. He smoothed his goatee and his gaze narrowed. I wanted to bottle it and sniff it on lonely days. Darcy break up with you again?
Honestly, yes, I was jealous, but my dislike for her ran much deeper than her affection for Blaze. I often wondered if Blaze suspected the same. Being president of the club pretty much made Diesel king, or at least he liked to believe he held that special status. Blaze gave his head a jerky shake.
