By EvansGirl I have used medscape for more than 10 years and always loved it. I have free UpToDate through work but kept medscape as I preferred it. For example the pink horse of Tecfidera that now takes over the whole app every 5 seconds and makes the app crash.
Annoying to allow any company to hijack your app and my time. Recent updates Mar 31, By izzl. I have used Medscape since prior to Always satisfied. The update I was almost forced to to perform turned this site into a chaotic fiasco that prevented me from obtaining infomation by constantly changing the page into a whole page advertisement that blocked out the info I had needed as well as jugling constantly.
I took app off my computer. I am attempting to replace app and will give it another try. Over 20 years without problems. Whats happened? Mary C. Scarboro more. The ADS! Hate it! Oct 4, By PAjazzyJeff. I love Medscape and I use it daily but I cannot deal with the ads anymore. They are intrusive and so irritating. I'll gladly pay a fee to use this app without the ads.
It's taking me a lot longer to find the info I need in a hurry because of these adverts. Won't someone think of the healthcare professionals?? A bit of bug maintenance overdue Jul 6, By snoo-snee. The reason I am trying to reach the developer is because the notifications are currently worthless. Jan 5, By The Great Artiste. App will not work, a pop-up window demanding that I update won't allow startup of app. I discovered that I need to disable my ad blocker, then it opens.
I still consider this a major fail. This might help people solve their problem. See all negative reviews. Medical Rotations Life Saver Mar 30, By Asst. A lot of people will say resources like UpToDate and Epocrates are the gold standards, and while they are incredible, neither possesses the ease of use, scope of information, or clinical tools that this app has.
Aug 22, By Angel Wintrode. All the medical news, info, and more in one place. Warning: this app is a lot like reading a magazine that is meant to be read by doctors, nurses and other medical personnel.
Some of the articles may be hard to read for some people bc of how technical they are. If you can keep up with medical phrases and jargon you'll love this app. Repeat Crashes since recent update Sep 20, By susanin Obviously excellent resource of concise medical information that is useful in my daily clinical practice. However, since the most recent update, the app repeatedly crashes when scrolling through an article. Needs prompt fixing. Long Time Invaluable Resource Apr 15, By Brenrick Medscape has remained an invaluable resource for both maintaining CEU as well as cogent and valuable contemporary research articles.
Thanks Medscape for being a long term friend more. Very useful, but used to be better. Feb 14, By EV-traveler. Unfortunately, both the website and the app are now harder to use than they used to be. It used to be possible to forward a chunk of text to people who needed information.
This all gets back to the fundamental questions facing the business of medicine today; should an informed citizenry be a goal, or should profit?. Having said all this, I do rely on this site, I just wish it had a little bit more accessible structure.
Dec 31, Great app for continuing education CEUs. There is one fix that is needed ASAP for the continuing education section: when a course is completed and evaluation done there is only a link to the activity tracker, but no way to get back to either the main home page or to education section.
Also, add an option to change text size within the app for the visually impaired. One suggestion Apr 10, By Qwerty Thank you! See all 4 reviews. I want to be clear May 11, By AndrewLinares. I am like this app a lot, but there are some things that are holding me back from using it daily. In my previous review I mentioned that there was no way to send articles via text message and there was no way to save articles for later.
A developer responded that there was a way to save articles for later, which is true except in certain circumstances. If you search for an article or click on any article after opening the app, you can save it for later. However, if you get push notification about a story that you might like and you click on it, it does not give you the option to save it for later.
I would use this app much more frequently if these two features were in it. Wonderful app I love this app, i have used it almost every day in clinical and hospital situations. It is updated daily and provides accurate information.
The only con to this app is the near constant barrage of ads when you are trying to actually read the wonderful information contained within. Every time you scroll to read the next paragraph blam you are hit with another bit of advertisement for some medication Sep 12, By Khalid Hatem.
Dear medscape team please fix App unusable any more. Message keep showing "a network connection is required to perform necessary updates" on the home screen, although i have a strong internet connection, my other phone showing this also. This message is preventing any interaction with app. Feb 6, By Joe Carney. This didn't use to occur- has been a couple months now. See all 3 reviews.

Best days are in the past Apr 6, By DrJNT. Medscape was once one of my favorite apps, so much information at the touch of a finger. Extremely informative and useful in the clinical setting. Now it has been plagiarized with nonstop adverts worse than any clickbait website online. It is literally impossible to get through one paragraph of an article, use one tool, read one recommendation without an ad appearing an replacing the text. I get the point of adverts, and I understand the app is free Until then Dec 24, By Shelby Manor.
Medscape was a helpful app I checked daily Ads make it very annoying! Oct 25, By MD Mauri. I first downloaded Medscape when I was a medical student.
I have used it many times in the past, but now I tend to open the app as a last resource. Because of the annoying ads! We are medical professionals seeking information for the good of our patients, not to pass the time because we are bored. I hope that clarifies my disappointment and reminds you of the purpose of this app and any other source of medical information. At least come with a solution like an advertisement-free version that is not free Nov 12, By Kanyka Hargett.
What's wrong with Medscape? Lately when I open it, it shows "a network error occured, please try again". It's certainly not on my end. Please fix it. See all 1 reviews. Similar to Medscape. View pill pictures, medication interactions, audio pronunciations, integrated calculators, and much more more. New update Aug 11, By Kiransky. Jan 25, By Sergio Bautista. It saves me time during my nursing clinicals. I love the feature where it will let you how to pronounce the drug. So far it has been an awesome experience using the app.
Maya, LVN Jan 20, By maya lvn. Best money I have spent for a study tool thus far. For pharmacist also! Oct 11, By Kram. This application is a nice, quick reference that works great for pharmacists.
It gives detailed information, more than enough for Retail Pharmacy. Saved me Jul 13, By sezzapooh. This drug guide is to the point and makes it easy to look up your drugs on the go. Always helpful, handy and accesible Jun 12, By DemzTele. Used this app since I was in my nursing school , now still using it even I am already working in the floor. I so love it, that is why when I can no longer access my subscriptions because of IOS issue, I wrote to them and they are very helpful. Now I am using the new version and so far it is excellent! Highly recommend to all!
May 7, By Brandon Conner. Used to work fine. For the last 6 months or so I can't get it out of calculator mode. I would look to a different app. Jun 30, By Carrie King. Have had this app for years. I changed phones and like others mention cannot access the app on the new phone. Customer service is a joke and do not assist with resolution.
Time to switch vendors for this guide. Jan 19, By Jacqueline McNeeley. I bought this app back in while I. Nursing school It was the same price as the physical book I bought. However, I used this app almost everyday and I never thought twice about basically buying the "book" twice.
I used the app on my phone for years and still continue to utilize it often. Why on Earth has this app become a yearly subscription at the same price?!
Why do I have to continue to pay the same price as the book every year now, will find something comparable now. A little unhappy.. By jayedcc. I purchased this app because I recently got hired in the ED. I use it a lot to check medications that I will be giving. I have no complaints at first but then I started getting a lot of pregnant patients, and I realized that this app does not show pregnancy category for drugs.
Please have it fixed maybe in the next update? That is really important!!!! Mar 24, By Ky Tran. I found this app helpful during nursing school and while working as a nurse but as other users have reported, you can not access the app after switching phones and customer service has not helped to resolve the situation.
Very unfortunate. Edit: I am still being charged for a "subscription" but still can not access my account from my new device. Customer service will not help me despite multiple attempts to reach out.
Do not spend your money on this app if you don't have to. No reviews available See All Community Reviews. Nov 16, By Kenneth Karan.
Much more thorough than other apps, much clearer than the physician's desk reference. I am a home care nurse and this is a very valuable tool. Especially side effects and interactions. Much more reliable than Google.
Highly recommended. Jan 14, By Brian Wilhite. I've used Davis Drug Guide for years in my nursing practice. It provides detailed, fast, and up to date information that I need. My patient's love that I can provide them education when they need it. Feb 2, Very functional for nursing students as well as in field on the job. It separates content per nursing process. Includes calculators. But, there's no simple answer to this question that bothers healthcare professionals as well.
Most drug packages advise caution when breastfeeding, warning that breastfeeding moms should consult their doctor first, or not take the medications at all.
But the catch is that even doctors are often not sure about what drugs are safe to take while breastfeeding. The aim of LactMed app for Android and iPhone is to help medical providers, as well as breastfeeding mothers figure out which medications are safe, risky or dangerous from the comprehensive database of drugs and dietary supplements that may affect breastfeeding.
Antibiotics are not the only medications being unnecessarily prescribed and used. They share the spot with opioid analgesics, which are the most common method of managing chronic pain. However, similarly to antibiotics, opioid analgesics are frequently and unnecessarily prescribed as a first-line therapy not only for chronic, but also milder pain, which puts patients at risk of prescription opioid overdose.
Healthcare providers play a key role in protecting the patients, and they often resort to the guidelines and recommendations published by CDC for all primary care providers who are prescribing opioids for chronic pain.
CDC also developed a CDC Opioid Guideline mobile app aiming to help providers apply these recommendations to their daily clinical practice in order to make informed opioid prescribing decisions. I read that the PDR text was discontinued around , and after years of having it for reference, I was bummed. I think a lot of negative reviews of PDR information is that people want watered down material. I personally love that you always got pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics.
Plus the information presented was detailed as a professional pamphlet that is included in literature. This is providing you with detailed information about 5-HT3 antagonism, other chemotrigger explanations and various receptor interactions. I like detail and having free access at work on my phone is a plus.
Thank you so much for the app! It's such an awesome reference. This app could be a lot better if you could improve some of the following suggestions: 1. Recommend just provide email if that's how you want feedback.
Organization of text and drop downs need sone cleaning up. Just cosmetics, see other apps for organization and presentation of information. Navigation is easy but not clean or intuitive. Create a favorite tab so we can save a list of favorite drugs.
It kinda does with the Recent Search but not very good. Create a tab for related drugs when one is looked up.
